SLEX toll holiday slated on Monday
September 4, 2004 | 12:00am
Starting at 12:01 a.m. on Monday until midnight on Tuesday, travel along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) from Alabang, Muntinlupa City to Calamba, Laguna will be toll-free.
In a statement, the Philippine National Construction Corp. (PNCC) said this is in line with the Toll Regulatory Boards earlier pronouncement on a toll holiday along the SLEX as a means to refund motorists after the fees were reduced by 20 centavos last month.
Last July 12, the PNCC agreed to implement uniform toll rates along the North Luzon and South Luzon expressways, thus lowering SLEX rates from P0.72 per kilometer to P0.52/km for Class 1 vehicles, from P1.41/km to P1.04/km for Class 2 vehicles, and from P2.16/km to P1.55/km for Class 3 vehicles.
The PNCC said the toll holiday does not include the Skyway segment the elevated section from Buendia to Bicutan and the at-grade level from Magallanes to Alabang.
