LIPA CITY, Batangas Archbishop Ramon Cabrera Arguelles was installed as the fifth archbishop of the Archdiocese of Lipa yesterday morning in canonical rites attended by President Arroyo and other national and local government officials.
Arguelles replaced Archbishop Gaudencio Rosales who was transferred to the Archdiocese of Manila on Sept. 15 last year. Rosales, for his part, replaced Jaime Cardinal Sin.
"Miracles do happen. The major miracle in my life (has) never (stopped) happening since the time I was ordained bishop by His Holiness Pope John Paul II in St. Peters Basilica more than 10 years ago," Arguelles told the crowd gathered at the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Metropolitan Cathedral of San Sebastian here.
Arguelles, a native of Batangas City, completed his studies and seminary formation at the San Carlos Seminary and was ordained priest on Dec. 21, 1969. Arnell Ozaeta
