Batangas trader’s daughter freed

MATAAS NA KAHOY, Batangas — A daughter of a businessman here was freed by her abductors yesterday morning, two days after she was snatched while she was jogging, the National Anti-Kidnapping Task Force (NAKTF) said.

The NAKTF, however, did not provide details of how Maria Elizabeth Luna, whose father owns a gasoline station and a water drilling system here, was released.

A policeman, who refused to be identified, said they were uncertain whether ransom was paid for Luna’s release.

Luna was seized while she was jogging at about 5:30 a.m. here last Wednesday. Two men accosted and dragged her to an unlicensed white Toyota car. They also had a Nissan Frontier as back-up.

Local investigators had a hard time cracking the case because the victim’s family had refused to cooperate.
