Trader loses P2 M to robbers

- Non Alquitran -
Five armed men, on board two motorcycles, robbed a businesswoman of P2 million she had just withdrawn from a bank in Cainta, Rizal.

The victim, Nerissa Garcia, 26, of Saint Francis Subdivision, Barangay San Juan, and her driver, Satudio Jaquilmac, 65, had just emerged from the Bank of the Philippine Islands branch when the robbers blocked their path along J. Tolentino street at 12:30 p.m.

When Jaquilmac stepped on the brakes of their Mitsubishi Estrada, two of the robbers, armed with an Uzi machine pistol and a caliber .45 automatic pistol, rushed toward Garcia and at gunpoint, ordered her to hand over the backpack containing the money.

The robbers also took Garcia’s shoulder bag containing P20,000 in cash, personal belongings and important documents.

After pulling off the five-minute job, the robbers sped off toward ROTC Hunter Road.

Garcia told Senior Superintendent Leocadio Santiago, Rizal police director, that the money was intended for her insurance payment for her business.

Police are preparing cartographic sketches of the robbers based on the descriptions provided by Garcia and her driver.
