Bulacan mayor suspended

-
MALOLOS, Bulacan — The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has slapped a one-month suspension on the outgoing mayor of Norzagaray town pending resolution of an administrative case filed against him by a former municipal employee.

Norzagaray Mayor Feliciano Legaspi was ordered suspended without pay for one month due to an administrative case filed by Dr. Evangelina Ramos.

Legaspi is set to step down from office on June 30 and his post will be taken over by his wife, Matilde, who won in the last elections.

Last June 10, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan also issued a suspension order on Legaspi after another employee filed oppression and harassment charges against him with the provincial board. — James Mananghaya
