Woman punched by son-in-law for insisting on naming her grandchild ‘Sandara’

- Lino De La Cruz -
Ozamis City — A woman suffered a cut in her eyebrow after her son-in-law punched her for insisting on naming her grandchild "Sandara."

Elizabeth Dagohoy of this city, was reportedly an avid fan of Sandara Parks, one of the new talents of ABS-CBN television who won in the stations’s recently concluded "Star Circle Quest" talent search.

Dagohoy’s daughter, Analyn, gave birth to a baby girl last June 11 and her husband, Rosendo Rupinta, prefers to name his daughter "Rosemarie."

However, during a visit the other day to the couple’s house, Dagohoy discussed her plans for the baby’s baptism and choice of name.

Dagohoy and her son-in-law reportedly could not agree on the baby’s name and a heated argument ensued. In anger, Rosendo punched his mother-in-law’s face, resulting in a wound in her eyebrow.

Dagohoy was immediately brought to a nearby hospital for treatment.

It is still not known whether the two finally agreed on a name for the baby or if the baptism will push through soon.
