12 hospitalized after eating wild mushrooms

Balanga City Twelve persons including four children were hospitalized at the Bataan General Hospital here after eating mushrooms taken from a rotten banana trunk and animal manure in Morong and Abucay towns on Monday.
Andy Venzon, emergency nurse at the Bataan General Hospital, identified the victims from Morong as spouses Jessie, 49, and Gina Hipolio, 40, their children, Geri Mae, 20; Johanner, 14; Jommer, 7; and Kate Miguel, l5; a neighbor of the family
Meanwhile, in Abucay town, the victims were: Larry Amos, 35; his children, Lala, 9; Eva, 6; and Alexis, 4; all of Barangay Capitangan; and spouses Christopher, 27, and Janette Valencia, 26, of Barangay Tuyo.
Venzon said the three families were brought to the hospital by their relatives when they complained of severe stomachache, cramps and excessive vomiting after eating mushrooms harvested from their backyards.
