Cordillera’s KNP leader joins the administration

BAGUIO CITY — A known Koalisyon ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino (KNP) leader in the Cordillera region jumped over the Easter weekend to the administration camp.

Gubernatorial bet and provincial KNP coordinator in the Mt. Province Harry Dominguez announced his decision to support President Arroyo during the campaign blitz of the administration coalition in Bontoc on Black Saturday.

Dominguez, a nephew of congressional bet and Mt. Province political kingpin Victor Dominguez, said he had decided to support Mrs. Arroyo after realizing that many of KNP supporters have already abandoned the party to support the administration ticket.

Sagada Mayor Tomas Killip also submitted a manifesto of support to Mrs. Arroyo signed by 10 Mt. Province mayors.

Meanwhile, Baguio-based journalists continued to boycott the campaign sorties of KNP senatorial bets, including vice-presidential bet Loren Legarda after another tiff with coordinators over schedules.

Journalists walked out from a scheduled press conference on Wednesday after waiting for almost two hours for Legarda.
