Tarlac fiscal charged for extortion

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has filed criminal charges against the provincial prosecutor of Tarlac who was arrested for allegedly extorting money from complainants in an illegal recruitment case.
Charges of direct bribery and violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act were filed against Tarlac provincial prosecutor Aladin Bermudez Jr., NBI director Reynaldo Wycoco said.
Bermudez was arrested by elements of the NBI-National Capital Region, headed by its executive officer, lawyer Romulo Asis, during an entrapment in his Tarlac office Thursday.
Asis said Ermer Iniego and eight other complainants sought the NBIs help after Bermudez allegedly demanded P1,000 from each of them. Cecille Suerte Felipe
