102 ferry passengers rescued

ZAMBOANGA CITY Navy personnel rescued 102 passengers of a ferry that encountered mechanical trouble off Pangutaran Island in Sulu yesterday morning.
Commodore George Uy, chief of the Naval Forces in Western Mindanao, said his men responded to a distress call from the officers of M/L Mora, which had drifted for more than a day.
The ferry, which also carried 2,500 sacks of copra, was en route to this city from Mapun Island in Malaysia. Roel Pareño
