Pinoys gearing for new Guiness record

-
After attempting to set the record of having the biggest number of kissing couples, the Philippines is once again aiming for a new record in the Guinness Book of World Records.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) reported that residents of Zamboanga Sibugay would try to set the record of having the longest "talaba" grill as they celebrate the Sibug-Sibug festival today.

In vying for the Guinness World Record, the resident of Sibugay would grill the meatiest, juiciest oysters that made the province as the "Talaba capital" of the Philippines.

DOT officials said 15,000 pieces of oysters weighing 1,500 kilograms will be cooked in a kilometer-long grill to be put up along the capital site starting at 6 p.m.

Aside from setting a world record, residents of Sibugay are hoping also to attract local and foreign visitors to attend the event and other activities lined-up as part of the month-long festival.— Mayen Jaymalin
