A drug suspect was arrested while visiting his family in San Mateo, Rizal yesterday, a day after he and 14 other detainees escaped from the municipal jail in neighboring Rodriguez town.
The recaptured inmate, Alexander Guillermo, 28, gave himself up peacefully when policemen cornered him in his house in Barangay Marang.
Guillermo told Senior Superintendent Leocadio Santiago, Rizal police director, that he and his fellow jailbreakers boarded a Manila-bound jeepney before they parted ways.
He said he decided to visit his family who might have gotten worried because of his escape.
The 14 other escapees are still being hunted down.
