Danao, 6 Cebu towns eyed under Comelec control

CEBU Gov. Pablo Garcia has shared the observation of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) that certain areas in the province could possibly be placed under the poll bodys control in the May 10 elections.
Garcia confirmed that some towns in the third, fourth and fifth districts could be under Comelec control due to intense political rivalries.
The Comelec is closely monitoring Danao City in the fifth district, Madridejos and Santa Fe towns in the fourth district, and Toledo, Balamban, Asturias and Tuburan towns in the third district.
"More or less, its (Comelecs) assessment is accurate," Garcia said.
Garcia said he intends to meet with provincial police director Maximo Calimlim to discuss reports that at least three policemen in Santa Fe are allegedly engaged in partisan politics. Freeman News Service
