Guiguinto celebrates 89th Foundation Day

On Jan. 20-22, the town of Guiguinto in Bulacan will mark its 89th Foundation Day and will stage the 5th Halamanan Festival. Highlighting the three-day event is the "Ulat sa Bayan ni Mayor" on Jan. 22.
During the opening ceremonies at 7 a.m. of Jan. 20, the "Hardin at Paraiso," a showcase of the "Garden City of Bulacan," will be inaugurated. The 3rd National Bird Competition will also be held.
Before the Ulat of Mayor Ambrosio Cruz Jr., the annual street-dancing competition will be staged, participated in by contingents from Bulacans two cities and 22 towns. Cash prizes and trophies await the winners of the province-wide contest.
Other activities lined up during the three-day event are Araw ng Kalinisan, a cultural show (Jan. 20); and Araw ng Kabuhayan, a livelihood/jobs fair; Araw ng Katahimikan, a tanod competition; and the Search for Mutya at Maharlika ng Guiguinto (all on Jan. 21).
