Security guard runs amuck, stabs 2 colleagues to death

- Non Alquitran -
A security guard, who had been taking anti-rabies shots since he was bitten by a neighbor’s dog last Dec. 5, went berserk in Cainta, Rizal yesterday, stabbing two colleagues to death and critically wounding the girlfriend of one of the fatalities.

The suspect, Emmanuel Ordaliza, 31, employed by the Variance Security Agency, is himself in serious condition at the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Hospital in Marikina City after angry bystanders beat him up after the carnage.

The two fatalities, Francel Gonzales, 21, and Arturo Igos, 25, sustained multiple stab wounds. Igos was also shot in the head.

Gonzales’ girlfriend, Anna Marie Maderca, 20, had three stab wounds and is listed in critical condition.

Police said Ordaliza had had six anti-rabies injections since a neighbor’s dog in a compound in Barangay Sto. Domingo, Cainta bit him.

At about 12:45 p.m. yesterday, Ordaliza, brandishing a fan knife, ran amuck inside his rented room and attacked Gonzales who tried to pacify him.

Igos, holding his caliber .38 service firearm, came to Gonzales’ rescue but he, too, was stabbed. Ordaliza grabbed the gun and shot Igos in the head.

Ordaliza also attacked Maderca, after which he ran outside the house. Angry bystanders cornered him but he was able to free himself, commandeering a passenger jeepney driven by Jimmy Pontabla, 29.

Ordaliza pointed the gun at Pontabla’s head and pulled the trigger, but no bullet came out. Taking this chance, the bystanders rushed to him and ganged up on him.
