Remnants of Bagis Gang arrested in Asingan town

- Eva Visperas -
ASINGAN, Pangasinan — Three persons, believed to be remnants of the notorious Bagis Gang involved in robbery holdups in Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac and nearby provinces were arrested here in simultaneous raids the other day in Barangay Carusucan Sur.

Police Senior Superintendent Mario Sandiego, provincial director, said that combined elements of the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Pangasinan’s 107th Provincial Mobile Group and the local police arrested brothers Gen Salvador and Emmanuel Sapigao, both businessmen and residents of 96 Zone II, Carusucan Sur.

During the raid, another person wanted by the authorities, Larry Mucha, 49, a resident of same barangay, was arrested inside Gen’s house.

Seized from the two suspects were assorted firearms and live ammunition.

.One suspected smuggled motorcycle was also seized by the raiding team when Gen failed to show documents of ownership.

The raid was conducted after the SOG received several complaints regarding the indiscriminate firing of the two brothers.

Sandiego said remnants of the Bagis Gang are regrouping in this province and in nearby provinces. — with Cesar Ramirez
