DAVAO CITY The four youth militant leaders of Anakbayan in Maco, Compostela Valley, who were reportedly adbucted by military intelligence personnel, were found dead yesterday in a quarry site near the highway at Crossing Blanco.
Found dead were Marjorie Reynose, 18, Sangguniang Kabaataan chairman of Barangay Anislagan; Jonathan Benaro, 16, also an SK kagawad in the same area, Lito Doydoy, 27; and Ramon Regaso Jr., 17.
According to Shalom Lorenzana of Bayan Muna, the four were abducted at around 3:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon just after they came from an Anakbayan forum on corruption in Maco.
"We will really seek justice for the death of the four youth leaders and we believe the military has something to do with it," Lorenzana said.
The four were reportedly taken by a certain Willy Javier and several other companions, who were suspected to be agents of the Military Intelligence Group (MIG) XI.
Witnesses claimed Javier arrived in the said town last Friday and was noted to have been asking around about the ongoing Anakbayan forum.
Members of various militant groups are expected to picket the Armed Forces headquarters in Camp Panacan today to protest against the death of the four youth leaders.
