3 dead, 3 hurt in reb attack

LEGAZPI CITY Two soldiers and a civilian were killed and three others were wounded when an eight-man New Peoples Army (NPA) band fired caliber .45 revolvers and 9-mm. pistols at a tupada (makeshift cockpit) in Daraga, Albay Friday night, the military said.
Reports reaching the regional military headquarters here identified the fatalities as T/Sgt. Angelo Magdasoc and S/Sgt. Danilo Apostol, both belonging to the Armys 901st Infantry Brigade based in Barangay Villa Hermosa, Daraga town; and Jose Madellar Jr., a resident of neighboring Pilar, Sorsogon.
Wounded in the attack were Jesus Forendino, Arnilo Llona and Domingo Friola.
Reports said the two slain soldiers were unarmed and in plain clothes during the attack, which sent the cockfight aficionados scampering for safety.
Police found at least 18 caliber .45 and 9-mm empty shells at the scene. Cet Dematera
