ARMM holds 2nd business congress

Marawi City At least four Asian countries and a trade mission from the United States are participating in the Second Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanaos (ARMM) Business Congress, which starts today at the Lanao del Sur provincial capitol.
Lacsasa Pangadapun, president of the Marawi City Chamber of Industry said the delegations Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia and South Korea as well as the US have confirmed their participation in the business forum.
Pangadapun said at least 20 different business chambers from the nearby cities of Iligan, Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato City, Jolo, Sulu and Davao city will also attend the congress.
ARMM Gov. Parouk Hussin said President Arroyo has been invited to grace the culmination rites of the event.
Governor Mamintal Adiong said the business congress will boost development efforts in Lanao del Sur, which has identified at least 20 priority areas for investment including cassava processing, palm oil, mineral water, brassware, ceramics, cutflower and furniture, among others.
