Osmeñas leadergunned down in Laguna

SAN PABLO CITY A political supporter of Senator Serge Osmeña was shot dead yesterday afternoon by two unidentified motorcycle-riding men here while on board a tricycle, police said.
Police Senior Supt. Edwin Corvera, Laguna police director, identified the victim as Rowena Brion, 39, resident of Barangay Del Remedio of this city and a senate employee detailed at the Office of Senator Osmeña.
Initial investigation showed that at around 4 pm when Brion was on board a tricycle enroute to still unidentified location, was blocked by two motorcycle riding men and shot her several times, killing her instantly.
Brion died with four gunshot wounds in different parts of her body. Police also recovered empty shells from the crime scene.
Police are still investigating the motive behind the killing but police said it might have something to do with the alleged illegal "paihi" ssystem of gasoline pilferage in the city.
