CAMP AQUINO, Tarlac — A 67-year-old resident of Botolan, Zambales was executed by elements of the New People’s Army’s Josepino Corpuz Command last Thursday, the military said.

Three rebels, one of them an amazon, shot Dionisio Quilalang in the head and left a note saying he was meted the death penalty.

The NPA command did not say why he was killed, but Lt. Col. Preme Monta, spokesman of the Armed Forces’ Northern Luzon Command, said he probably had refused to give in to the rebels’ demands. Benjie Villa, Artemio Dumlao
