DAVAO CITY Ethnic groups in this part of the country are also as concerned about peace as anyone else in Mindanao.
And to show this, the Songspell group is staging a concert and a play here on May 16 in a show dubbed Madayaw na Pagpanaw (A Walk in Peace).
Supported by the National Commission on Culture and the Arts, the show aims to help promote peace in Mindanao by involving young artists in a show of cultural songs, dances and play.
The repertoire includes songs invoking Gods blessings, Broadway selections, childrens songs and Filipino classics.
The second part will be the play Dangan ni Raheela, a Maguindanaoan love story with composition, arrangement and audio production by Agnes Manalo and Von de Guzman and libretto by Ruby Lopez.
At the helm of the show, to be held at the CAP Auditorium on Anda street, is known director and choreographer Douglas Nierras. Nelly Domingo Castro is musical director.
