CEBU CITY Three more senior police officers in the citys Carbon district have been relieved over illegal video karera operations, which were uncovered during a recent fire that struck the community.
City police chief Cecil Ezra Sandalo, who assumed the post last Monday, relieved Inspectors Benjamin Salvatiera Jr., Abraham Ocampo and Edwin Abuton Tuesday night, a few hours after he sacked Superintendent Manuel Gurtiza.
Earlier, Mayor Tomas Osmeña ordered the relief of all Carbon policemen after some 200 video karera machines littered the streets in Barangay Ermita when a fire hit the Carbon community recently.
After the blaze, neither Gurtiza nor any of his men could explain why video karera operations had proliferated in their jurisdiction. Freeman News Service
