COTABATO CITY Suspected Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) rebels attacked a farming village and toppled down a 138-kilovolt transmission tower of the National Power Corp. (Napocor) in Kabacan, North Cotabato Monday night, plunging parts of Central Mindanao, including this city, into darkness.
Maj. Gen. Generoso Senga, commander of the Armys 6th Infantry Division, said the Moro guerrillas, led by Commander Naya, a known henchman of MILF chieftain Hashim Salamat, used bombs fashioned from B-40 anti-tank rockets and 60-mm mortar rounds in toppling down the steel tower, not far away from a secluded stretch of the Cotabato-Davao Highway in Barangay Kayaga, Kabacan.
