CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga A Chinese national alleged to be a leader of a drug syndicate, reportedly committed suicide inside the comfort room of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at this regional police camp last Sunday.
Police said Yang Han Yin, 22, alias Hanson Young, slashed his throat after excusing himself to go to the comfort room.
Two PDEA agents said they heard a loud scream from the comfort room a few minutes after Han asked for permission to urinate.
Rushing to the toilet, they saw the bloodied Han sprawled on the floor, they said.
Senior Superintendent Sonny David, regional officer of the PDEA, said the Chinese national was arrested last March 8 at the parking lot of the IS Pavilion in Barangay Banga in Meycauayan, Bulacan. He was subsequently detained at the PDEA office here.
At least 500 grams of shabu were confiscated from Hans Toyota Previa van with license plate WSC 932.
The PDEA reportedly considered Han to be the third most notorious drug dealer in the country.
