Bomb found at Lanao gas station

-
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The military successfully defused an improvised C4 bomb planted at a Shell gas station in Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte Tuesday morning.

Col. Ernesto Boac, commanding officer of the Army’s 401st Infantry Brigade based at Camp Ranao in Marawi City, said the bomb was meant to kill people since it was set to go off at 5 p.m.

Had it not been found earlier, it could have exploded ahead of the bomb that went off at 5:45 p.m. the other day at a waiting shed outside the Davao International Airport, killing 21 people and injuring at least 160 others, Boac said.

He said the bomb was kept in a plastic bag, which an attendant at the gas station found at about 4 p.m. — Bong Fabe
