Cagayanon does a ‘Lorena Bobbitt’

TUGUEGARAO CITY — Getting home drunk after his wife caught him in the act with his lover proved to be his undoing. While in deep slumber, her wife did a "Lorena Bobbitt," lopping off his penis.

Police said Nancy Caweng had learned about the illicit affair of her 34-year-old husband Miguel and played detective for several weeks until she caught him and his lover last week in the upland Apayao town of Luna.

For fear of being confronted by his wife, Miguel got himself drunk with several shots of gin before heading home. He awoke with his penis severed.

Nancy later gave herself up to the police.

Bobbitt hogged headlines in the US a few years ago when he cut off her husband’s penis. — Charlie Lagasca
