One less headache for Tommy Osmeña

-
CEBU CITY — The clearing of streets around the Carbon market, a move that was feared to give the administration of Mayor Tomas Osmeña another headache, will be peaceful this time.

This, as the vendors have reportedly agreed not to get in the way while road repairs are going on, and will voluntarily clear the area starting Feb. 12.

The City Traffic Operation and Management (Citom) will start clearing Quezon Boulevard behind Carbon Unit I, II and III, and F. Escaño street, the two thoroughfares that border the Carbon market.

Maria Pino, president of the Cebu City United Vendors and City Hall urban poor consultant, said more than 1,000 vendors will be affected. Freeman News Service
