No Korean dream for 41 Pinoys
January 23, 2003 | 12:00am
Forty-one Filipinos found themselves being deported from South Korea Tuesday night instead of appearing, as they were duped into thinking, in a film called "Korean Dream," the foreign affairs department said.
The deportees paid between P75,000 and P200,000 as "brokers fee" to enable them to go to Korea and supposedly make the movie.
"This is a case of large-scale illegal recruitment and trafficking of Filipinos," the Philippine Embassy in Seoul said. Aurea Calica
