LEGAZPI CITY Suspected communist rebels gunned down a councilor of Ligao City in front of his house last Friday, police said.
The victim, Galo Jose Garcia, 38, was sipping coffee at the frontyard at about 10 p.m. when three men fired at him with caliber .45 pistols, hitting him in the right arm and left side of the abdomen.
Reports said the rebels could have suspected Garcia to be a military informer because of his closeness with Col. Pedro Tabangay, commander of the Armys 22nd Infantry Battalion based in Barangay Tula-Tula in Ligao City. Celso Amo
