Resort owner seized

BATANGAS CITY — Suspected communist rebels abducted a Filipino-American resort owner in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro last Sunday, police said.

PO1 Gloven Alarcon said at least 15 rebels led by one Antenor Corpuz alias Zander barged into the Westmont Resort in Barangay Fatima and seized its owner, Antonio Lehmann, 47, and his caretaker, Leonardo Mariano.

The rebels later released Mariano. Police learned that Lehmann’s abductors were demanding P10 million as ransom. — Arnell Ozaeta
