Smart resumes Albay operation

Smart Communications Inc. has decided to restore its cellular service in Guinobatan, Albay in response to the requests of local residents.

Due to the deterioration of the peace and order situation in Guinobatan, Smart was compelled to suspend and turn off its cellsite there last month to protect the lives of its employees and safeguard its facilities.

In a statement, Smart said it took into consideration assurances given by Albay Vice Gov. Jesus Calisin that the local officials shall ensure the safety of the Smart cellsite in Guinobatan.
