Ex-Davao dad faces arrest for SSS raps

DAVAO CITY The court has ordered the arrest of a former city councilor for failing to remit the Social Security System (SSS) contributions of the employees of his printing press.
Regional Trial Court Judge Emmanuel Carpio has set a P12,000 bail for the temporary liberty of former councilor Senforiano Alterado accused of violating the SSS law.
SSS Southern Mindanao lawyer Lydia Galas filed the case against Alterado based on an affidavit of Imelda Guerra, account officer of Alterado Printing Press, that SSS contributions amounting to P24,878.40 were not remitted from April 2001 to August this year.
The SSS dues remained unsettled despite two billing letters sent to him last Aug. 22 and Sept. 6.
Alterado also owns a technical and maritime school here. Edith Regalado
