PNP assures Lanao safe from MILF raid

Marawi City The Philippine National Police (PNP) has assured townfolks in Tubaran, Lanao del Sur that the town is secure and government forces are ready to ward off another possible attack by the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) following the skirmishes last Nov. 6.
Sr. Supt. Maguidala Diamaoden, police provincial director, said that the town police, the regional mobile force and troops from the Philippine Armys 29th Infantry Battalion have secured Tubaran and are ready for any attack from the rebels.
The MILF attack last Wednesday came a few hours after a firefight between town policemen and MILF rebels who were entering the town during market day.
