Missing pastor found dead

CALAPAN CITY — A pastor of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP) was found dead with several stab wounds in the Oriental Mindoro town of Baco the other day, two days after his family reported him as missing.

Relatives of the victim, Nemecio Malcil, 40, claimed that Army soldiers went to his residence in San Teodoro town and invited him out. Failing to return home the next day, his family sought the help of Gov. Bartolome Marasigan. — Joe Leuterio
