BACOLOD CITY The head of a sex cult called "Espedeject Ideology" is now locked up in jail here after three counts of rape were filed against him yesterday.
The Negros Occidental Regional Trial Court recommended no bail for Leonardo Cabrillos Erobas, 54, of Barangay Mandalagan this city.
Erobas was arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation last Wednesday after two 15-year-old girls accused him of rape. A third girl, aged 16, also came forward with the same allegation.
In her affidavit, the 16-year-old girl said that last Jan. 1, Erobas invited her to his house where he gave her whiskey to drink, after which he allegedly molested her. The next day, he gave her P150, she said.
Sometime last February, the teener said Erobas again brought her to his house, made her sniff rugby and then had sex with her. He again gave her P150.
The third and fourth incidents, she said, happened on May 4 and Sept. 24. She said Erobas smoked marijuana and showed her and her friend a gun and took pictures of her.
Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra has appealed to Negrenses not to entertain Erobas cult "because it is Satanic; we do not belong to Satan, we belong to God."
"The Church and I personally are opposed to what Erobas is doing," he said.
Erobas has distributed photographs of young girls and boys in the nude, some of them engaged in oral sex, to senators and media outlets in Manila.
In a two-page paper on his Espedeject Ideology, Erobas said he is the "real, overall anti-Christ" and that "it is okay to go nude and practice free sex."
He admitted having distributed the nude pictures to gain public attention. Police suspect that he had sex with the young girls in the pictures.
Investigators, however, believe Erobas is a "one-man cult."
