Clark firms owe CDC P532-M

-
CLARK FIELD, Pampanga — At least 250 of the 300 companies at the Clark special economic zone owe the state-owned Clark Development Corp. (CDC) some P532 million in rental and other fees.

Some of these locators are also way past their deadline to pump in investments in the ecozone.

Some of these delinquent firms were found to have merely put up "shells" of planned offices and ventures, according to a CDC official who requested anonymity.

CDC records show that the Sacobia Hills Development Corp., for instance, has committed to put up the Tru North Golf and Country Club, a P4.8-billion, 120-hectare hotel-golf course-resort complex here, but failed.

The firm, chaired by Donald Dee, reportedly owes the CDC at least P35 million. Ding Cervantes
