LAOAG CITY While the date spell tragedy for peace-loving people worldwide because of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York, Sept. 11 will be marked in Ilocos Norte for a different reason.
Tomorrow is "Marcos Day" here and a whole-day program of commemorative activities has been lined up to mark the 85th birth anniversary of the late former president.
Former First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos and her children, Gov. Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Rep. Imee Marcos and Irene Marcos Araneta, will lead officials and local folk in the program.
Some 3,000 Marcos loyalists from Metro Manila and other areas are expected to attend the occasion which is celebrated yearly.
The program kicks off with a parade and tableau participated in by contingents from this city and the 22 Ilocos Norte towns, the police, schools, Fort Ilocandia Hotel and the Marcos loyalists. Teddy Molina
