6 killed in bus-van smash-up in Pangasinan

URDANETA CITY, Pangasinan — Six people were killed when their van collided with a Baguio-bound passenger bus Friday night along the national highway in Barangay Anonas here.

City police identified three of the six fatalities through identification cards as Tony Ubaldo, Lucila Ubaldo and Maria Arevalo, all of Makati City and passengers of the Hyundai van. The police identified the driver of the Victory Liner bus bound for Baguio City as Erineo Fernandez of Bulacan. He fled after the accident.

It was reported that the van was heading towards Manila when it collided with the bus.

Responding policemen rushed the victims to the nearby Urdaneta Sacred Heart Hospital but were declared dead on arrival. — Cesar Ramirez, Eva de Leon, Jaime Laude
