CEBU CITY Some 20 suspected New Peoples Army (NPA) rebels stormed a depot and quarry site in Barangay Guadalupe, Carcar town the other night, burning a truck and two heavy equipment and pushing another truck down a ravine.
The guerrillas herded together the workers of Gorones Development Corp. but harmed no one, taking only the shotgun and uniform of a security guard.
Provincial deputy police chief Nievo Rodriguez said the failure of the company to pay revolutionary taxes to the rebels apparently prompted the raid.
No official from Gorones was available for comment.
