Prexy of guards union shot dead

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna Unidentified men gunned down the president of the newly formed labor union of security guards manning the Yulo-owned Canlubang Estate here, Monday night, police said.
The victim, Fernando Rico, 48, president of the Canlubang Security Agency Union, was shot four times in the back while on duty at the project site of the National Housing Authority in Barangay Mahadang Loob, according to Superintendent Virgilio Tibayan, Calamba police chief.
Probers still have no clues on the killing. But Ricos relatives believe that his murder had something to do with the complaints he filed with the Department of Labor and Employment on the unpaid salaries of security guards of the Canlubang Security Agency. Rene Alviar
