Davao City dad ordered arrested

DAVAO CITY — The court has ordered the arrest of city councilor Alexis Almendras on charges of estafa and falsification of documents.

Regional Trial Court Judge William Layague acted on the case filed against Almendras, son of the late Senator Alejandro Almendras, by his own sister, Rosalinda Almendras-Unson.

She accused him of falsifying her signature in the special power of attorney in the sale of a 195-square-meter property here last February.

A P40,000 bail was set for Almendras’ temporary liberty. — Edith Regalado
