2 more die in election violence

An incumbent barangay chairman in Ligao City, Albay was shot dead, while a candidate was gunned down by suspected communist rebels in Agusan del Norte, in the latest violent incidents in the run-up to Mondays elections.
Police said Emerito Capital, 60, chairman of barangay Mahaba, Ligao, was buying supplies at a hardware store when a lone gunman tapped his shoulder and then shot him in the head.
In Buenavista, Agusan del Norte, meanwhile, seven suspected guerrillas killed retired M/Sgt. Pio Isip Sr. while campaigning for barangay councilman in Barangay Sangay. Ben Serrano, Celso Amo
