BATANGAS CITY A supervisor of the Shell refinery in this province was gunned down in front of his house here the other day, police said.
Superintendent Restito Hernandez, city police chief, said the victim, Eugene Furuganan, supervisor of Shells LPG refilling station, was stepping out of his Revo when several men fired at him at close range.
Furuganans wife Cerelia said she saw at least three men aboard a dark-colored car who approached and shot her husband.
"I saw them but I could not identify them because it was too dark when the shooting happened," she told probers.
Cerelia said her husband had earned the ire of some refinery workers because he was too strict, such as banning the use of cellphones at work.
He earlier had suspected a truck driver for using his mobile phone, she added. Arnell Ozaeta
