This time, La Trinidad is baking a giant strawberry cake

-
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet — After baking what they aspired to be the world’s biggest carrot cake recently, the highland folk here are aiming for another feat — a giant strawberry cake.

And they intend to do that on March 18, the eve of the feast of the town’s patron saint, St. Joseph the Carpenter.

Jorge Pawid, executive assistant of Mayor Nestor Fongwan, said the giant strawberry cake will be assembled at the municipal building’s Lednicky Hall and will be open for viewing after which everyone can partake of it with a P10 ticket.

This town is also lining up a contest for strawberry products, a strawberry picking competition in at least 88 farms in Barangay Puguis, and a cultural festival featuring ethnic dances at the municipal hall grounds. — Artemio Dumlao
