2 sisters killed inside Antipolo home

- Non Alquitran -
Two sisters, aged 22 and 26, were found already dead for nine hours, their bodies bearing multiple stab wounds, inside their Antipolo City, Rizal home yesterday, one of them possibly a victim of rape.

Jasmin Bailon, 22, who worked for the Cebu Pacific ticketing office in Antipolo, had 16 stab wounds, while her elder sister, Agnes, 26, a medical technology graduate of the Centro Escolar University, was stabbed 12 times.

Superintendent Arturo Tolentino, Rizal police director, said Jasmin was found naked from the waist down, prompting them to determine whether she was raped before she was murdered.

Investigators have lifted several fingerprints inside the Bailons’ home at Lot 5, Block 4 in Sitio Dalig which they hope would help them identify the killers.

They said they found no evidence of forcible entry into the Bailons’ residence, raising suspicion that the assailants were known to the slain sisters.

According to Superintendent Jose Dayco, Antipolo police chief, probers were looking into the possible link between the killing and the snatching of Agnes’ cell phone two weeks ago.

Dayco said the snatcher was arrested and jailed. Agnes filed robbery charges against him but he was subsequently released on bail.

Police also intend to invite for questioning some laborers in a house being constructed near the Bailon residence.

"We have no motive yet," Dayco said.

It was Jasmin’s boyfriend, Arnold Jaurigue, an employee of the Department of Finance, who discovered the bodies of the two sisters.

Before going home to Batangas, Jaurigue decided to drop by the Bailon residence after receiving no text messages from Jasmin.

He left though after the sisters failed to open the door despite his repeated knockings on the door.

"I thought they were at the North Harbor to fetch their relatives who were scheduled to arrive from Masbate so I left without checking first whether they were inside," he told Dayco.

But while in Batangas, Jaurigue said his girlfriend’s relatives "texted" him that their trip to Manila was called off. He rushed back to Antipolo, worried that something bad happened to Jasmin and her sister.
