Marinduque cop killed in shootout

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Calamba A policeman suspected to be a drug trafficker was slain in a shootout with local policemen in Torrijos town Marinduque, the other day.
Chief Supt. Domingo Reyes Jr., regional director for Southern Tagalog, identified the slain policeman as PO2 Eduardo Pielago, who was assigned at the Marinduque PPO Provincial Mobile Group.
Pielago was declared dead on arrival by attending doctor at Torrijos Community Hospital.
Reyes said Pielago was with suspected local drug traffickers Rommel Millar and Rustico Macailao at Sitio Tibyayong, Barangay Buangan in Torrijos town when a team of local policemen led by SPO2 Virgilio Murillo came to conduct illegal drugs operation.
When Murillos team reached the house of Macailao where the drug traffickers were holed up, they were met with gunfire, forcing them to return fire. Ed Amoroso, Rene Alviar
