Agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) seized $23.9 billion worth of counterfeit US federal notes in Davao City last Tuesday.
Chief Superintendent Nestorio Gualberto, CIDG director, said the seizure also resulted in the arrest of suspects Amerigo Rejuso, Edilberto Guerrero and Corazon Polyoroza.
Quoting reports from the CIDGs Region 11 field office, Gualberto said his men intercepted the suspects who were aboard a taxi on a tip that they were carrying illegal drugs.
But during a search, they yielded no illegal drugs but fake US federal notes in a carton box. Jaime Laude
