Dengue cases rise in Negros

BACOLOD CITY — Seventy-seven more cases of dengue fever were reported in Negros Occidental and Bacolod this month alone, bringing the total since January to 493.

Former Negros Occidental governor Rafael Coscolluela was himself afflicted with dengue. He was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit of the Riverside Medical Center here after developing pulmonary congestion, low arterial oxygen and capillary bleeding.

Coscolluela’s condition improved Friday night.
