Intensity 5 quake jolts Puerto Galera

An Intensity 5 tectonic earthquake jolted the resort town of Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro at 1:17 a.m. yesterday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the movement of the Lubang Fault triggered the earthquake whose epicenter was located west of Batangas City. It registered a Magnitude 4.4 on the Richter Scale.
The tremor was also felt at Intensity 4 in Tagaytay City and Tanauan, Batangas; Intensity 3 in Manila and Lucban, Quezon; Intensity 2 in Quezon City and Taguig, Rizal; and Intensity 1 in Guinyangan, Quezon.
